Head of Application Technology

A global chemical company is looking for a Head of Application Technology Japan. The selected candidate will lead a team of engineers to drive application technology development, customer support, and innovation programs.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of engineers specialising in coating, printing, and plastics applications
• Plan and execute new business programs in partnership with sales and marketing
• Provide technical support to customers in Japan and Korea
• Support R&D initiatives and ensure successful technical outcomes
• Scout and evaluate new technologies with external partners
• Enhance team expertise by monitoring industry trends and strengthening internal capabilities

Requirements:

• M.Sc. or above in material science related fields (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry etc.)
• 5-10 years of experience in technical raw materials (coatings, plastics, or printing); pigments and particle materials is ideal
• Experience in leading team, project management and working in an international, cross-functional environment
• Prior experience in People Management
• Proficient in spoken and written Japanese and English
