Head of Operations / General Affairs Manager
An international medical devices organisation is looking for a Head of Operations / General Affairs Manager. The selected candidate will oversee Finance, Human Resources, and General Affairs while building scalable operations and advising executive leadership. This is a hybrid setup role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, cost control, and alignment with strategic business goals
- Develop and implement operational policies, workflows, and compliance frameworks
- Act as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on financial performance, organisational structure, and operational risk
- Direct financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and KPI tracking
- Oversee payroll, financial reporting, tax compliance, and relationships with auditors, banks, and external partners
- Lead HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations
- Design and manage compensation, benefits, employee engagement, and diversity initiatives
- Oversee general affairs, including facilities management, IT coordination, and office procurement
- Manage cross-functional projects such as office relocations, system implementations, and process improvements
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a small operations and administration team
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in business administration, finance, human resources, or a related field
- 8-10 years of broad operational experience
- More than 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven experience overseeing finance, HR, and operational functions
- Experience managing small to mid-sized teams
- Strong financial management skills, including P&L oversight and working knowledge of HR labour laws and compliance
- Ability to manage confidential information with a high level of discretion
- Professional level Japanese and English
Preferred requirements:
- Experience scaling a business or working in a small to medium enterprise environment
- Change management experience related to digitalisation or process optimisation
- Possess valid professional certifications such as MBA, CPA, SHRM-CP/SCP, or PMP
