An international manufacturing company is looking for a Payroll Country Lead. The selected candidate will lead payroll specialists managing employee payments across multiple locations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and mentor team for efficient periodic payroll operations
- Establish procedures for payroll disbursements and documentation oversight
- Interpret collective agreements impacting payroll processing and benefits
- Govern systems and processes, collaborating with third-party providers for efficiency
- Implement controls to ensure compliant and accurate payroll operations
- Timely reporting of payroll data to social security and tax authorities
- Provide senior management with payroll expertise and handle complex inquiries
- Supervise government filings and ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Collaborate with other departments and business units for data sharing
- Ensure payroll policies align with regulations and company standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in human resources, payroll, business, or relevant domain
- More than 8 years of experience in payroll in a foreign MNC with payroll regulations in Japan (labor role or social security rule) is preferred
- Experience in team leadership and development in Japan
- Prior experience in payroll systems (SAP is a plus)
- Possess valid CPA or MBA qualification is ideal
- Fluent level English and Japanese
