A global human resources company is looking for a Payroll Assistant Manager. The selected candidate will oversee payroll operations, ensure compliance, and manage the team for smooth payroll processing. This is a direct contract role.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee payroll operations, benefits calculations, vendor coordination, and statutory reporting
- Lead, guide, and monitor team performance, setting clear objectives
- Address escalated client issues and ensure satisfaction before closing cases
- Maintain payroll data accuracy in local and global systems
- Standardise payroll service quality through SOPs and guidelines
- Manage statutory filings including social insurance, labor insurance, and year-end tax adjustments
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance, accounting, business administration, or a relevant domain
- More than 8 years of experience in Japanese payroll management
- Experience leading Japanese payroll operations
- Prior experience in statutory filings
- Knowledge of payroll calculation in Japan
- Familiarity with social security calculation
- Understanding of taxes and related laws in Japan
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Possess valid Labor & Social Security Attorney licence
- Proficient in written and verbal Japanese and English
