Head of HR Japan

A global luxury fragrance company is looking for a Head of HR Japan. The selected candidate will lead the local HR strategy, talent agenda, employee relations, and people operations while aligning business goals with global standards and local compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the local HR strategy with leadership and HQ stakeholders
• Partner with business leaders to align HR priorities with organisational goals
• Advise employees and managers on people matters while fostering trust and engagement
• Strengthen workplace culture, integration, and organisational effectiveness
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of personnel costs and people metrics
• Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, performance, learning, succession, compensation, payroll, and HR compliance

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Experience in a senior HR leadership role (international or matrix organisation is ideal)
• Prior experience in personnel cost management, budgeting, HR reporting, and people-related data analysis
• Proven experience in handling both strategic HR topics and operational HR matters with a hands-on approach
• Understanding of core HR areas, including talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and learning and development
• Knowledge of Japanese labour law and HR compliance requirements
• Fluent level written and verbal Japanese and English
