店舗計画ディレクター/ Store Planning Director

An international luxury goods company is looking for a Director of Store Planning, Japan. The selected candidate will lead the Store Planning team and oversee project delivery for new stores, renovations, relocations, and pop-ups across the Japanese portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Define and implement project delivery strategy with VP, local and global stakeholders
• Lead the team through clear communication, promoting new ideas and supporting collaboration
• Establish project setups and communication protocols per company standards
• Support Project Managers in reviewing and negotiating lease terms and handover conditions
• Conduct post-opening audits with store design, planning, and retail teams
• Identify improvements in store design, project development, delivery materials, and suppliers
• Manage external relations with landlords, architects, contractors, and suppliers
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, and reporting, ensuring transparency and accountability
• Partner with internal teams, including Security, CVM, IT, Procurement, and Finance, to drive process improvements
• Lead initiatives to expand vendor pool, improve production capabilities, and ensure compliance with standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field
• More than 10 years of experience
• More than 5 years of experience in a leadership role in store planning for luxury goods, premium real estate, or high-end hospitality
• Prior experience in full lifecycle portfolio management from site identification to project close-out and facility management
• Experience with high-end flagship stores and working knowledge of facades, building systems, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering
• Knowledge of local market conditions, contracting, permitting, and regulations
• Proficient in MS Office, CAD, MS Project
• Ability and willingness to travel within Japan and occasionally overseas
• Business Level Japanese and English

Preferred requirements:

• Similar experience at a contractor or developer
• Proficient in 3D software and Photoshop
