外部コミュニケーションマネージャー/ External Communications Manager

A global pharmaceutical company is looking for an External Communications Manager. The selected candidate will lead corporate external communications, media relations, and crisis communications to protect and enhance global brand reputation and corporate value.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise the external communications team to ensure strong performance and collaboration
• Develop team capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and training initiatives
• Build and execute the external communications strategy and annual operational plan
• Lead strategic media relations targeting Japanese and global media
• Plan and deliver public relations initiatives leveraging pharmaceutical industry expertise
• Prepare, review, and deliver press releases, Q&As, and other external communication materials
• Coordinate closely with PR agencies to maximise strategic media exposure
• Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency of external messaging
• Strengthen team expertise through pharma-focused knowledge sharing and training
• Lead crisis communication planning and response to protect corporate reputation

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in business, communications, journalism, or a related field
• More than 10 years of experience in communications or public relations
• Experience in multinational pharmaceutical or healthcare companies or PR agencies within the same industry
• Proven experience in media relations, crisis communications, digital and social media communications, and content development
• Experience managing teams and developing talent through coaching and mentoring
• Native level Japanese; fluent level English
