A global biopharmaceutical company is looking for a Category Buyer – Events & Medical Communications. The selected candidate will lead sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost savings while partnering closely with business and medical stakeholders. This is a hybrid setup role.

Responsibilities:

• Execute global procurement strategies and ensure alignment within the assigned geography
• Lead RFIs, RFPs, and contract negotiations to deliver savings in line with targets
• Manage local procurement projects across events and medical communications categories
• Partner with internal stakeholders to define project scope, consolidate requirements, and support business objectives
• Report sourcing status, savings, performance, and risks in close collaboration with finance partners
• Maintain procurement documentation, KPIs, and compliance with policies related to risk, CSR, and governance
• Identify non-compliant processes and implement corrective actions
• Build strong relationships with key internal customers while challenging the status quo to introduce best practices
• Identify cross-business synergies and contribute insights to enhance global procurement strategies

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above
• More than 4 years of experience in procurement or a related field, including agency-side experience
• Experience in sourcing, category management, and stakeholder engagement
• Proficient in project management, procurement techniques, analytical tools, and negotiation
• Experience working in a multicultural and matrixed organisation
• Fluent level Japanese and English
