物流スペシャリスト/ Logistics Specialist

A global apparel manufacturer is looking for a Logistics Specialist. The selected candidate will oversee customs and trade activities, manage product deliveries from local vendors, and ensure compliance with import and export regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Customs & Trade
• Serve as a primary contact to customs brokers and government agencies
• Consultative communication with internal stakeholders across multiple business functions for cross border transactions.
• Evaluate economic, market and other factors affecting industry trade as it pertains to products
• Manage and minimize risk to the company in relation to valuation of product. Resolve any issues or errors to ensure accurate customs dutiable value is declared.
• Identify and solve complex problems that may involve multiple departments. Apply analysis based on in-depth research and critical thinking to recommend or influence solutions.
• Critical thinking is used to identify and solve highly complex problems with the input of experts, and is used to influence outcomes supporting trade facilitation, regulatory compliance and corporate financial objectives.
• Duties are carried out with minimal or limited supervision
• Attention to detail is critical as errors can cause delays in delivery of goods or result in penalties being imposed by Customs. Excessive errors may ultimately affect the company’s import process, and result in a higher risk designation by Customs and thereby increase the company’s exposure to penalties, exams, or audits.
• Contacts occur with others both inside and outside the company, at all organizational levels. External contacts include Customs authorities and other government officials, customs brokers, freight forwarders and others.
• Delivery Management for Product from Japan Local Vendors
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders for product delivery from Japan local vendors to DC and manage PO data inside and outside ERP system (JDE).
• Provide the information about deliveries to internal stakeholders with clearer visibility

Daily tasks include;

• HS Classification
• Advise cross functional colleagues on trade facilitation and cost saving opportunities
• Verify qualification for FTA/EPA
• Support DC Operation through cross functional process review and improvement plans
• Review/monitor documentation
• Insure cargo, claim for damages
• se analytical and critical thinking skills to recommend and implement solutions
• Manual PO Data Management in JDE
• Manual verification of invoices for goods delivered from Japan local vendors to DC in Japan
• Manual verification of invoices for import shipment costs
• Recordkeeping of import shipments and saving documentation
• Get paperwork processed and finalized with government agencies for importation

Requirements:

Specific Job Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of issues related to international trade and regulatory environments such as economic, market, political and other factors influencing trade objectives and positions, government agencies and others related to foreign trade.
• Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to plan and execute projects and tasks independently
• Exceptional problem solving skills
• Adept at establishing priorities and working to deadlines
• Familiarity with ERP systems (JDE, SAP etc.)
• Problem sensitivity to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
• Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast changing environment

Qualification/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or above
• Additional professional certification such as a Customs Broker license is also desirable
• 5+ years of professional experience in international transportation and import/export regulatory compliance
• Experience working for an international apparel/footwear company
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Access
