Global Head of Trade Compliance

A global medical devices company is looking for a Global Head of Trade Compliance. The selected candidate will develop and lead innovative strategies for managing trade compliance operations worldwide.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and lead the Global Trade Compliance Operations program, ensuring adherence to all relevant rules and regulations
• Create strategic direction for trade operations processes, focusing on robust risk mitigation management
• Collaborate with Trade Compliance Governance on remediation activities and ongoing governance of the Global Trade Program
• Ensure robust monitoring, risk assessment, and auditing programs are in place for third-party suppliers and internal trade programs
• Manage global trade partners to ensure compliance with governing laws and service level agreements
• Facilitate global trade operations, ensuring accurate submissions to regulators for various trade classifications
• Ensure compliance on all international trade matters, including customs duty management and free trade agreements
• Initiate compliance programs for stakeholders to streamline operational processes and minimise non-compliance cases

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in business administration, trade compliance, supply chain management, or a related field
• 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in management and operations with measurable outcomes
• 10-15 years of experience leading multi-entity trade compliance programs
• More than 5 years of people management experience
• Knowledge of global trade import and export regulations
• Ability and willingness to travel
• Possess a valid Customs Broker licence is a plus
• Professional level Japanese; proficient in written and verbal English
