通関責任者（日本）/ Customs Country Manager Japan

A global energy technology is looking for a Customs Country Manager. The chosen applicant will be responsible for ensuring that necessary customs processes and governance standards are implemented and adhered to.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Regional Customs team to identify and analyse local and global customs-related risks in business and processes, and support the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures
• Contribute to the implementation of customs regulations and ensure accurate and consistent distribution of relevant information across the organisation
• Monitor and control corrective actions derived from external and internal reviews and customs audits
• Manage brokers and oversee the implementation of standard operating procedures
• Develop, implement and enforce guidelines, solutions and plans to optimise processes within the area of responsibility
• Conduct training and reviews to ensure adherence to customs regulations
• Provide consulting support to other organisational units and promote best practice sharing

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in economics or law with a focus on foreign trade and customs, or relevant experience in customs administration
• Proven experience in Customs, with a background in managing operational units within a matrix organisation
• International experience in project management and organisational development
• Experience in different areas of foreign trade, such as authorities, consulting companies, corporations, and associations, round off a profile
• Familiarity with customs and ERP systems, including expertise in requirements specification, testing, and rollout
• Strong negotiation, presentation, and moderation skills in a cross-country team
• Ability and willingness to travel
• Professional level Japanese and English
